Dozens of fines have been issued in Sassari against those involved in the "cafona" summer. The latest fine—€1,500—was issued yesterday by local police to a group of Sardinians who had parked their camper, without insurance, in the Porto Ferro pine forest, where they also dumped waste.

The officers noted the deterioration, charging the young people responsible with violating parking restrictions in the pine forest, illegal camping, and littering, as well as failing to insure the vehicle, which was immediately seized. The Porto Ferro case follows a series of violations uncovered by the Municipal Police in the last week.

In recent days, for example, police found a school bus, without children in tow, used by the driver for a day trip and parked in an illegal parking lot.

Local police officers have been monitoring Sassari's beaches for some time, ensuring there are no irregularities. Special attention is also paid to ensuring the proper use of parking spaces reserved for disabled people, especially at the Platamona roundabout.
