Italian runners-up. A heavy silver medal for Rossella Boettu and Vittorio Deriu, the blind young woman and the boy with Asperger's syndrome, both from Sassari .

Sunday evening the recognition given to Rimini at the Paralympic dance championships organized by Fids, the Italian Federation of sport dance. "We are excited and happy - declares Rossella - and this is only our first Italian championship". The couple performed a choreography prepared by their teacher Valeria Pittalis of the Master International School Dance.

"We brought a cha cha cha - the two say - in the form of a show, called show dance". An evening lived with some anxiety given the delay of the performance compared to what was planned. "We were supposed to compete around 12.30 but in the end the times got longer and we entered the scene at around 19". 24-year-old Rossella lost her sight 5 years ago and Vittorio, 18, lives with Asperger's syndrome and has come out of a long period of depression. Through dance, the two forget and make them forget their difficulties, becoming top-level performers in all respects. As Rossella told us in a recent interview: "This is just the beginning of a journey, which is already beautiful as it is, but will become more and more".
