Valentina Roncallo and Marco Antonio Cappuccio give Muravera and Norbello two more gold medals. They won the two singles, women's and men's, second category, during the fifth day of the Italian table tennis championships, underway at the Pala Pirastu in Cagliari.

Roncallo thus repeats the mixed doubles title won on Tuesday and confirms the gold won in Riccione in 2022. Cappuccio climbed the podium after the bronze in the mixed, again on Tuesday. To complete another day to frame the bronze of Miriam Carnovale del Muravera).

FEMALE SINGULAR

The patrol of athletes who play in the Sardinian teams was fierce. In the first round the first twist, Wej Jian comes out beaten by Giulia Cavalli. Roncallo advances. A bye in the first round, victory in three sets over Caterina Angeli, and another heavy victory in the semifinals, over Le Thin Hong in five sets. In the upper part of the draw Carnovale wins the derby with Veronica Mosconi (Norbello), to then give up, settling for the bronze, to the other finalist Wang Xuelan. The Italian-Chinese, number three in the ranking is the favorite but Roncallo has no fears. The twenty-year-old, in force since this season at Muravera, takes advantage of an edge and closes the first set with the advantages, then the march towards the title continues up to the final point of the third set concluded 11-9.

MEN'S SINGULAR

Another twenty-year-old, Norbello's strong point, wins the men's title at the same time. Silver to the Italian Under 21s, he remembers that he has an unfinished business with the top step of the podium. He wins the qualifying round, and proceeds quickly towards the final by eliminating, and losing just one set, Mongiusti, Adeyemo, Vallino Costassa and Allegranza. In the final there is Paolo Bisi, number 15 of Italy (former number one), Cappuccio is number 18. They are three balanced sets, but the Norbello athlete always has the ability to place the decisive draw. The gold is his.

Another busy day tomorrow. Three absolute doubles titles are awarded, men's, women's and mixed. The big names enter the scene. Above all, the most eagerly awaited are our home champions Carlo Rossi and Johnny Oyebode, who grew up in Marcozzi, now in Germany, and registered in Italy respectively with the Cagliari club and TT Sassari.
