Roma did well: they went to the Europa League final with Sevilla, who defeated and eliminated Juve. In the Conference League Fiorentina went to the final, triumphing 1-3 after extra time with Basel.
Roma will then play the Europa League final. As expected on the eve, they were dominated by the Germans of Leverkusen but, in the end, won a historic draw (0-0).
Mourinho's team danced a lot, but they didn't let themselves be intimidated by the gusts of Leverkusen even when they were one step away from capitulating: in the 13th minute Diaby hit the crossbar, but the giallorossi didn't disunited. The match was also suspended for a few minutes after home supporters threw smoke bombs onto the pitch. However, the statistics speak for themselves on the German siege: 21 shots of which six were on goal against the six (away from the posts) of the Giallorossi and 72 percent of possession of the ball by Leverkusen against 28 by Roma. Mourinho exults: "This team now deserves something special"
Instead, Juve were eliminated by Sevilla. In regulation time, the bianconeri took the lead through Vlahovic in the 65th minute but Suso equalized six minutes later. The 1-1, i.e. the same result as the first leg, leads to extra time. And a former Romanist, Lamela, condemned the black and whites by scratching in the first extra time and sealing the 2-1. Now it will be the Andalusians who will challenge the Giallorossi in the final on 31 May at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
In the semi-final of the Conference, Fiorentina took Basel into extra time, with the 1-2 signed by Nico Gonzalez (Swiss goal from Amdouni). Then, in the last minute of the second extra time, Barak scored the 1-3 which sent the Viola into ecstasy. Joy legitimized by Jovic's post in the final seconds. Fiorentina will face West Ham on 7 June at the Eden Arena in Prague.
