" Thank you Rosi, thank you Giulia, and thank you Mandas ." These words from Omar Pedrini, shared on his social media, are enough to rekindle the thread of an unbroken bond with the community of Mandas . A bond built on music and those small gestures of hospitality that, years later, remain etched in the heart. The occasion was the Rock'n Cricca event , which, on the feast of San Giacomo, brought together a multitude of musicians in the center of the upper Trexenta area for one large, collective open-air concert. The initiative, promoted by the "Classe '76" Committee, aimed to engage the audience through a choral performance capable of bringing together many artists.

And it was precisely images of the festival that reached Omar Pedrini, longtime leader of Timoria. ACLI president Rosi Dessì and her daughter Giulia Pili sent him the video. "I sent him a short video," Rosi says, "telling him that Mandas hasn't forgotten him." The Brescian rocker's response was immediate. Pedrini wanted to immediately understand what was happening, so Rosi contacted Giuseppe Cocco, one of the organizers of Rock'n Cricca, to gather some information to forward to him.

Pedrini particularly appreciated the moment the riff from "Senza Vento" began on stage, the legendary Timoria song that, from the first notes, ignited the audience's enthusiasm. This emotion prompted him to share a heartfelt post on social media: "Meanwhile, in Sardinia, in Mandas, this magic was happening... Rock in clicca." But Pedrini's memory goes beyond music and is linked to an experience he experienced in the center of the Duchy, which over time has become a special part of the artist's relationship with the town. In 2018, on the feast of San Giacomo, the ACLI, thanks to the efforts of Maurizio Botigliero, Ivan Melis, and the Pxl group, managed to bring the longtime Timoria leader, accompanied by his band, onto the stage at the Convent of San Francesco. The guests were so impressed by the welcome they received and the warmth of the Mandas people that they decided to stay in town for a few more days.

A stay spent immersing herself in the daily life of Mandas: between encounters, conversations, and convivial moments, even cooking Sardinian ravioli. These precious moments are recounted in her book "La locanda dello Zio Rock": "Those ravioli reminded me of the ones my beloved Signora Antonietta Pettenadu, mother of Pietro Paolo, the original bassist of Timoria, used to make for me in Brescia." And now that thread of nostalgia and affection could transform into a new encounter. The plan, in fact, is to organize a presentation of Omar Pedrini's book in Mandas as soon as possible.

A return that would feel like an embrace, between old memories and new music.
