"And the winner is… Roberto." Not Benigni, because the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles was a music competition, but Roberto Tola. The guitarist and composer from Sassari won the Best Jazz Song category with "Lightness" at the Hollywood Music Awards, an international competition that honors independent music.
Roberto Tola was the only Italian artist nominated in this edition , which attracted entries from around the world in over 45 competing categories. The Sassari-born artist was also nominated in the Latin Jazz and Holiday categories.
Tola commented: " A truly great joy for me and I think for music in Sardinia . A joy that I was able to share with Darryl Walker, who lent his voice to the song. Darryl was at the event like me, since he's from California, living in San Diego, a two-hour drive from Hollywood."
