While the song “Bossa Amor” has been a permanent fixture in the charts of the international radio network Smooth Jazz Club for several weeks, Roberto Tola “cashes in” another award: the nomination for the Grammy Awards for his new single “The Journey Ahead”. The song will compete in the Best Jazz Performance and Best Instrumental Composition categories of the competition, now in its 67th edition.

Released last week, the song confirms the ability of the guitarist from Sassari to compose music of international level. “The Journey Ahead” presents elegantly acoustic sounds, and winks markedly at Latin jazz and funk, giving a modern and pleasantly catchy touch to the listener. The illustrious guest is the trumpeter and flugelhorn player Giovanni Amato (he has collaborated with Mario Biondi, Gino Paoli, Gianni Morandi, Laura Pausini, Teresa De Sio and Fred Bongusto). The band is completed by pianist Luciano De La Rosa, bassist Maciek Szczyciński and drummer Estèban Rotunno.

This single and “Bossa Amor” will be included in the album “Jazz Junction” that Roberto Tola plans to release within the year. It will be the fifth in the solo career of the artist from Sassari who continues to reap awards and nominations all over the world.
