The former Rossoblu striker scored in the 27th minute of the first half, capitalizing on a headed pass from Ndour and, one-on-one with the goalkeeper, beating him with a low, angled shot.

Fiorentina held onto the lead, though the game heated up towards the end, with plenty of tension on the pitch. Ndour doubled the lead in the fifth minute of added time.
