A new Sardinian excellence enriches the Forbes 2022 ranking of 100 Italian companies. It is Riso Passiu, a company from Oristano that has received the prestigious award.

"An important national and international showcase for our rice - comments Felice Passiu, owner of the company and sales and marketing manager - A source of pride for our land which will be a good omen for our future projects".

The 100 Italian successes have been divided, with the support of “So Wine So Food”, into the categories of hotels, restaurants, food products and wines. In the February 2022 issue of "Forbes Italia", the list of Italian excellence that "represent a privileged showcase of Italian realities to be inspired by to have new stimuli and to confirm certainties to keep the flag high was published in the attachment to volume 52 of the Italian 'doing'.

Genesio Passiu founded the farm in 1975 focusing on the cultivation of rice which, at the time, was still not very widespread in Sardinia. In 2015 the eldest son Felice gave birth to “Riso Passiu”, the project in which his brother Andrea, production manager, and his father Genesio collaborate.

In 130 hectares, in the Campidano di Oristano, both historical varieties of Italian rice cultivation and recently established varieties are grown, each with its own characteristics. The “Riso Passiu” selection includes Gioiello Parboiled black rice, Carnaroli Classico, Vialone Nano Classico, Aromatico Gange and Integrale Elettra.
