Also in Sardinia it will be possible to join the national mobilization, which involves over 200 Italian squares, organized by the “Luca Coscioni” association to ask for improvements to the current text on the end of life. "If approved by the Senate - say Filomena Gallo and Marco Cappato, national secretary and treasurer of the Association - it could force many Italians to appeal to the courts to have their right to assisted suicide recognized".

The collection of signatures on the proposed amendment concerns in particular: "The elimination of the contextual presence of physical and psychological suffering, which would discriminate against patients with 'only' physical or 'only' psychological suffering as required by sentence 242 of the Constitutional Court, always in any case afferent to a diagnosed irreversible disease condition; the elimination of the requirement of dependence on life-sustaining treatments in order to access assisted suicide, which would in fact exclude, for example, cancer patients or patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases; the extension of the possibility of accessing assisted suicide also to sick people who are unable, due to their pathology, to self-administer the lethal drug ".

For Sardinia there are two collection points in Cagliari for today, April 8th. In via Giuseppe Garibaldi (corner of via Alghero) from 17.30 to 20 and in via S. Domenico from 19 to 22.
