The revenues of small and medium-sized enterprises in Sardinia are doing well, as indicated by the data released by the National Foundation of Accountants.

In 2021, the island is in third place among the Italian regions that have recorded the highest growth in revenues, with +31.3%, behind only Lazio (+39.2%) and Friuli Venezia Giulia ( +33.2%).

Cagliari is among the most dynamic provinces, registering a +40.7% behind Trieste alone (+47.2%).

The regions with the lowest growth are Puglia, Sicily and Piedmont, respectively +20%, +19.5% and +18.8%.

In the opinion of the president of the National Council of the professional category Elbano de Nuccio, the figures, taken from the analysis of over one million company financial statements, "provide important indications on the different current trends, and invite us to better calibrate industrial policies". where "the greatest concern is for a possible negative repercussion in the volume of revenues and profitability for 2024, also as a consequence of the upward revision of the GDP growth estimates for 2023".
