The State-Region debate on the revenue dispute has reopened. The appeal of the Sardinia Region arrived this morning in the Third Commission of the Regional Council, where the Budget Councilor Giuseppe Meloni confirmed the figure of one billion and 720 million in lost revenue, resources that the State has "forgotten" to transfer to Sardinia since 2010 .
"These are illegitimate cuts, which is why we have decided to appeal to the Civil Court of Cagliari against the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers ," said Meloni, hoping that the issue will be resolved sooner, peacefully, with an agreement that must however be "satisfactory" for the Island.
The debt was also recognized by the State, which however, with Minister Giorgetti, put forward a proposal, "unacceptable" for the Region, which provides for the payment of 800 million spread over 10 years . "Less than half of the sums owed and over ten years. Unacceptable, we asked to be able to have at least 1.3 billion, but the State did not accept and for this reason we filed an appeal in Court".
The lost revenues cover a period of 15 years, from 2010 to 2024, with ever-increasing negative balances . Until 2019 the reductions were less than 100 million, then the sums subtracted from the Island increased dramatically: in 2021 146 million, in 2022 256, in 2023 454, in 2024 385.
"Vital resources for us withheld illegitimately by the State", Meloni highlights, " without that money it is difficult to close a financial maneuver ".
The councilor also highlights the disparity of treatment compared to other Regions, "none have suffered cuts of this magnitude" . For this reason, he continues, "we ask the judges to ascertain our right to receive the full amount due". The appeal also aims to "block any further cuts on future revenue".
