Pezzali's lawyers sent a letter to the (Sardinian) mayor Michele Lissia and the council on November 6, asking not to award him the recognition, which is traditionally assigned in a public ceremony on December 9, the day of San Siro, the city's patron saint. A request motivated by the fact that, according to the lawyers, the name of 883 is identified with Pezzali.
