The affair starring the two former 883 members Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto ends with great laughter and a pint of strictly dark beer . It was born from the decision of the Municipality of Pavia to award Repetto, who returned to the limelight thanks to the series “Hanno ucciso l'uomo ragno” and the theatrical tour Alla ricerca dell'uomo ragno - La favola degli 883, the civic merit that Pezzali had received in 1995.
Pezzali's lawyers sent a letter to the (Sardinian) mayor Michele Lissia and the council on November 6, asking not to award him the recognition, which is traditionally assigned in a public ceremony on December 9, the day of San Siro, the city's patron saint. A request motivated by the fact that, according to the lawyers, the name of 883 is identified with Pezzali. But there is also a lawsuit underway in the Court of Milan, with a company owned by Claudio Cecchetto that claims ownership of the band's name.
The proposal to award the prize to Repetto was presented by Pietro Alongi "not for the 883, but because Pavia is never talked about and he, with his theatrical show - explained the majority councilor of the Democratic Party - has contributed to making it known throughout Italy". After the indication of Repetto's name in the conference of group leaders last Thursday, the final approval should arrive on November 25 in the city council. In the meantime, in Pavia, and not only, Pezzali's request has caused discussion, and it was he himself who clarified the matter.
"If it were up to me, in addition to the San Siro di Pavia award, I would also give Mauro a Grammy for the importance he has had in my life," Max wrote on Instagram, posting a photo of him and Repetto at the bar today, with a dark beer and a big smile . "What is coming out in these hours - explained Pezzali - has to do with some fairly public legal issues that do not involve Mauro, but are linked to the use of the name 883, a story that belongs to Mauro as much as it does to me. Despite what is starting to circulate online, the bond between me and Mauro is indestructible, sanctioned by those songs that are now more yours than ours."
"We - concluded Pezzali who will perform at the Assago Forum on December 31, quoting their first hit "Non me la menare" - like dark beers and James Dean motorbikes, not the bullshit they say in the movies ". And Repetto comments with a smiley face so much so that Pezzali adds: "The roads may also divide, but the songs and memories we have built together will last forever. Only good music and shared dreams".
