No to the primaries? Then make them "mini", with «consultation stations, divided into territories, at least in every municipality exceeding 15 thousand inhabitants and with more stations in the large capital municipalities, integrating in-person voting with a transparent and efficient online procedure». This is the proposal of the coordination of the Progressives for the identification of the candidate of the center-left coalition for the next Regional elections.
«There is no need to waste time, pretending not to see the evolution of the political debate in Sardinia, in the democratic, progressive, ecologist field of self-determination, around the construction of the coalition and the identification of the candidate», is the premise.
For the Progressives "it is a moral duty to give the Region a democratic, transparent and honest government in administrative action, and a political duty to implement an advanced program capable of responding to the needs of our community".
Procrastinating, they argue, «is useless. Indeed: harmful." The Progressives indicate «three very authoritative political personalities» who have publicly expressed commitment: «Graziano Milia, former president of the Province of Cagliari and esteemed mayor of Quartu. Renato Soru, former president of the Region, European parliamentarian, regional secretary of the largest party in the coalition. And Alessandra Todde, member of the Government in the previous legislature and national vice president of the M5S."
Although the only personality openly available to face the electoral campaign to date «is that of Renato Soru, we believe that we can no longer pretend that other possible candidates for president of the Region do not exist. In this case, we are talking about very high levels of competence, political history, government capacity", claims the party coordination.
The choice, therefore, "cannot be limited to the leading groups of the movements and parties of the coalition but must see the Sardinian people directly involved". Hence the proposal for this sort of primary through "a method that is worth more than some recent fake poll".
