They didn't show up at the Campo Largo table meeting this morning. They will go to Palazzo Doglio on Saturday at 5pm, where Renato Soru could formalize his candidacy as president of the Region.

These are the latest movements in the house of the progressives, a party headed by Luciano Uras, Massimo Zedda and Francesco Agus. At the head of the protests is the identification of the five-star candidate Alessandra Todde, who arrived from an agreement between the Pd and M5s.

«On the method, the coalition table had placed the need to reunite and keep the coalition together as the first fundamental point. We note, however, the narrowing of the perimeter of the camp, increasingly smaller and increasingly conflictual, externally and internally to the political forces that compose it. Not realizing this would be short-sighted and wrong", reads a note signed by the party coordination.

This is followed by the announcement of the desertion of the coalition table (also left by Liberu and Più Europa). With an explanation: «No one more than us, the facts speak for themselves, works and has worked in these 5 years to overcome the current regional management and give Sardinia an alternative, collaborating and acting as a glue between the political parties of the broad field, including the 5 Star Movement, whose relations with the rest of the opposition were characterized by strong mutual political distrust."

The Progressives think that «the next regional elections can be won by rediscovering the unity of all political forces and movements. We believe that the choice of the future candidate for the presidency must start from those democratic principles that have always animated the forces and movements within the broad field and that it is necessary to reconnect the democratic coalition with its electors, initiating consultation procedures to verify the approval first of the candidate or candidate for president, then on the most important programmatic points".

The next appointment on the Progressives' agenda is for Saturday at 5pm, at Palazzo Doglio. They speak of "a great assembly, we invite citizens to participate in moments of in-depth analysis of this journey, which is long and certainly will not end tomorrow". They don't say it, but at the same time, in the same place, there is Renato Soru.
