Regional, Sardinia towards the vote on February 25th
Solinas' communication at the group leaders' conferenceThe proposal is officially on the field and comes directly from the President of the Region Christian Solinas: it should be voted on February 25th. The governor announced it during the group leaders' conference in the Regional Council.
The date makes both the majority and the opposition agree. Solinas would thus choose the penultimate available date in the range between January 28th and March 3rd.
It was also decided that the States General will meet in the Regional Council on Thursday 21 December at 11am to reiterate Sardinia's No to becoming a nuclear waste repository.
The ANCI, the CAL and representatives of the various territories of the island will also participate in the Assembly.
On the centre-right front, the national table could decide on the name of the presidential candidate close to Christmas , in any case after the national maneuver has been given the green light . Also next week the regional coalition table should also meet.
In the split centre-left, work is still being done for coalition unity . A final appeal in this direction came from Roberto Capelli, coordinator of La Base Sardegna, an organization that supports Alessandra Todde's candidacy. In a letter addressed to the secretary of the Democratic Party Piero Comandini, the former senator points out that «perhaps alone we go faster, but together we go further. So let's all stop for a moment. I believe it is time to take steps backwards and then start running together again, with the one or the one who will be the guarantor of unity." The reference is to the division in the coalition where, on the one hand, there is the broad camp that has indicated Todde for the presidency of the Region, on the other, the coalition that supports Renato Soru. Capelli asks Comandini to «once again convene a meeting, as broad as possible, between all the political forces that today feel they are alternatives to the current regional government structure and that have their decision-making headquarters in Sardinia. Whoever does not respond to your invitation will be in the wrong."
It is difficult, however, to foresee steps backwards on the part of Renato Soru or Alessandra Todde . The M5S deputy will be in Villacidro tomorrow from 5pm for a public meeting with citizens. Tonight at 7pm he will participate in a debate in Cagliari on the programmatic proposals moderated by Luisa Giua Marassi and Giovanni Dore.
Yesterday in Cagliari the former governor participated in the meeting "The island of tourism: modern, sustainable and responsible". The appointment scheduled today in Iglesias to discuss work and energy transition has been postponed to a later date. Confirmed is the one on Saturday 16 December at 5.30pm in Santa Teresa Gallura, again on Tourism.
