With the new election of Gianni Cadoni as president of the Regional Committee of the FIGC, yesterday in Tramatza the directors of the entire regional football movement linked to the FIGC were also elected. All positions arrived, like that of Cadoni, for the next four years. "I am happy and satisfied", says Gianni Cadoni. "I thank the clubs that have expressed their consent: the work and our efforts to grow football in Sardinia have been appreciated. The numbers speak for themselves. I also say that ours is an ongoing commitment: it means that there is still a long way to go. We want, among other things, to bring football to all the municipalities of Sardinia, improve the functionality of sports facilities, just as we have many other projects in mind".
Cadoni has also been designated as a candidate for Vice President for the Central Area at the LND National Assembly, a role he has already held in the current four-year term. Cadoni has been at the helm of the CR Sardegna since 2016. He is now starting his third consecutive term.
The assembly was also attended by the national president of the LND, Giancarlo Abete, the president of CONI Sardinia Bruno Perra. The assembly was chaired by Nuccio Caridi. At his side was the secretary of the assembly, Antonello Madau. Abete, in his speech, spoke about football, about the growth in Sardinia, also remembering, among the applause, Gigi Riva, who passed away last January. In taking the floor, Gianni Cadoni, underlined the commitment of the CR Sardinia in these years (the continuous relationship with the territory was fundamental) in all its sectors: 11-a-side football, women's and men's five-a-side football, youth activity, the Representatives, the DCPS championships, major events such as the European Championships and the World Beach Soccer Club Championship. Years also characterized by a difficult situation due to the measures to be adopted to fight COVID but we started again, the movement reacted by working together. There was no shortage of numbers, growing for CR Sardegna (456 clubs, 2700 teams, 35200 members, 16970 games played, 7800 managers, 4050 technicians and 1000 referees), which now aims to put the clubs even more at the center with concrete actions, such as financial support, training courses, listening desks (tax assistance desk and one for the protection of minors), the relaunch of the Federal training center (new club house, new meeting room, and a medical center), the development of the marketing area and sports facilities. Gianni Cadoni showed himself very confident for the continuation of the already excellent relationships with the Institutions.
During the Assembly, the members of the Board of Directors, the Board of Auditors, the Assembly Delegates, the regional managers of Women's Football and Five-a-side Football were also elected. In addition, the candidates for the national positions of the LND were designated, such as the President of the National Amateur League, the Deputy Vice President and the Vice President for the Central Area.
