The renewal of the Regional Council's standing committees has been postponed by forty-eight hours. President Piero Comandini has sent a new meeting for Thursday at 10:00 a.m. The reason? The majority group leaders explained it at the end of the last meeting held this morning to break the stalemate.
"We needed to postpone the vote scheduled for today," said Democratic Party group leader Roberto Deriu, "to allow us to evaluate an important development, a new proposal from the Five Star Movement group that we want to take seriously."
Speaking to the microphones, the group leaders did not specify the nature of the proposal. According to reports, the Five Star Movement —which, after recent discussions, seemed destined to lose the Budget Committee and remain in charge of only the Urban Planning Committee— has proposed retaining the presidency of the third committee with party secretary Alessandro Solinas and instead sacrificing Roberto Li Gioi's presidency to Urban Planning. This would leave the Five Star Movement with just one committee, the Budget. The Democratic Party would hold three (Autonomy, Healthcare, Urban Planning), the AVS committee with one (Education), and the Common Horizon committee with Productive Activities.
