Zero sessions and zero hours of work: the Sardinia Regional Council never met in June . A month during which the members of Parliament apparently worked behind the scenes to reach an agreement on the €750 million (perhaps more) "mini-budget" that should soon reach the floor of Parliament: a bill announced in February, debated in committee until mid-June. But it never entered the institutional seat of Parliament. The microphones remained off. And nothing was decided.

This is according to the statistics just published on the institutional website, updated as of June 30. The numbers are clear: in all of 2026, the Regional Council worked 73 hours and 25 minutes. There were 29 meetings. But averaging (just under five sessions per month) would be a misrepresentation of reality.

The figure is so "high" only because the Council met 13 times in January (just under half the total). In the following months, meetings have been sporadic: just 3 in February (with 6 hours and 42 minutes of work), just 2 in March (lasting a total of 2 hours and 59 minutes), 4 in April, and 7 in May. Then came the June lapse: the Council hasn't convened since the 26th of the previous month. And in July, so far, nothing.

Of course, there is the work of the committees. But the work of the parliaments should lead to decisions approved by the Council as a whole.

Given the (laughable) amount of work, perhaps the quality of the results is high? Motions, questions, and interpellations have been discussed in six months. And what about the laws passed in 2026 during Todde's term, on which Sardinia's fate depends?

The most important is the Budget Law. In February, the "Provisions regarding personnel and the extension of rankings" were also approved. But also those "for the management and promotion of Sardinia's tourist railways and the regulation of the bodies of the Historic Green Train of Sardinia Foundation" (a provision that had to be revisited again in May). The issue of "the areas and housing assigned in the municipalities of Gairo, Cardedu, and Osini following the 1951 flood and not yet formally transferred" was also addressed. The Chamber also passed legislation "on the promotion, sustainable development, and governance system of artificial intelligence in Sardinia" and on the use of summer camps. In May, in addition to the reorganization of the Civil Protection Department, the Council also issued "measures for the promotion of almond cultivation."
