Not "a symbolic or demagogic gesture", but a decision "matured from the belief that to be operational it is necessary to have a profound knowledge of what happens daily in the offices, in the management, and to maintain a constant dialogue with the departments".

In the aftermath of the handover with her predecessor Christian Solinas, Alessandra Todde thus explains the choice to move the presidential offices from Villa Devoto to Viale Trento, the building that houses the organisation's offices.

«Villa Devoto represents an important symbol of the presidency», Todde explains today, «a venue that I will use on representation occasions, but I believe that to achieve my goal of being a truly operational president, it is useful to make a different choice».

For this reason «I have decided that I will work mainly from the Viale Trento office, the beating heart of the administrative activity of our region. Together with the political representatives and all the staff of the Region, I will dedicate my commitment to making Sardinia a better, fairer and more prosperous place for all of us."

Todde's predecessor, Ugo Cappellacci, had spoken of demagogy:

«On Villa Devoto I would like to remind you of a precedent: during my presidency we reopened the park on weekends, citizens met the president of the Region and could also attend events and concerts», attacks the former governor, « then Pigliaru arrived and, as she said that he would never go there. In the end he locked himself in there. You can be operational by concentrating your mind on the dossiers and initiatives to be carried out, regardless of the office you are in."

She should know this too, continues Cappellacci, «due to previous experiences in Roman palaces together with a company that said it would open Parliament like a can of tuna. Even then, we know how it ended. For the future we hope for more operations and less demagogy."
