Green light for the creation, within the Department of Health, of an office to support the activities of Ruas (Regional Single Manager for Health Care), the figure responsible for defining more effective interventions and paths to reduce waiting lists. The approval came during today's Council meeting: "We have been working for some time on the reduction of waiting lists, identifying extraordinary resources and introducing new governance tools", says the President of the Sardinia Region Alessandra Todde, "able to translate the citizen's right to health into concrete results, with rapid and effective responses to those who turn to the Regional Health System every day to take a test or receive a service".

After the establishment of the central unit for the management of health care under the Health Department, and following the appointment of Professor Luigi Minerba as Ruas, the Region reports that it is entering " a new operational phase with the establishment of the Office that will have to strengthen the role of Ruas , giving legs to its functions of direction and control and to the proposals that will be submitted from time to time to the political decision maker", continues Todde.

The office will have support tasks for the activities of Ruas through the monitoring of waiting times, requests for control interventions, in the construction of addresses and indications to health companies, in the preparation of contents and measures to be submitted to the Health Councilor, in the collection of data, reports and documents from the companies of the Regional Health Service, in the construction of dossiers and reports to be submitted to the Central Management Unit (UCG) headed by the Health Councilor, Armando Bartolazzi. This is not the only novelty: within the same UCG, the roles covered so far by health directors will be entrusted to professionals from the health and administrative area involved in the function and appointed by decree of Councilor Bartolazzi.
