Expected for December 22nd on Netflix, just in time for the Christmas holidays, the new and promising title by American director Zack Snyder - known in recent times above all for having made many of the most popular films in the DC universe, such as 'Man of Steel” and “Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice”.

“Rebel Moon” is the title and it has already made a recent statement with a featurette broadcast by the streaming service, presenting itself as an extremely ambitious space opera which also based on previous statements, on behalf of the producer and director's wife Deborah Snyder, we can frame it in the following way: "There's a bit of “Star Wars”, a bit of “The Lord of the Rings”, a bit of “Game of Thrones” with the palace intrigues. And it's all there what goes through Zack's mind."

Designed to be divided into two parts, with the second scheduled for 2024, the project was once again highlighted in the preview by Empire Magazine, with some exclusive covers that reveal an explosive galaxy animated by heroes, villains, aliens , warriors and robots.

Always at the forefront when it comes to identifying the hottest news, with many rumors and previews of the most talked about titles of the film season, the magazine shows us in an absolute exclusive the main actors involved in the filming: Sofia Boutella (Kora), Charlie Hunnam (Kai), Djimon Hounsou (General Titus), Doona Bae (Nemesis) and Jimmy (Anthony Hopkins).

The events faced will take place in a peaceful colony located on the edge of the galaxy, which will be threatened by the tyrant Balisarius and his fearsome army. To react to a danger of this magnitude, a young woman linked to a dark past is tasked with organizing a team of warriors with unique qualities from neighboring planets, called to fight in the name of the resistance.

In addition to directing, Snyder co-wrote the screenplay with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. Together with the performers already mentioned we will also find in the cast Cary Elwes, Michiel Huisman, Ray Fisher, Fra Fee, Cleopatra Coleman, Stuart Martin, Corey Stoll, Rhian Rees and Alfonso Herrera. Rupert Friend instead seems to have been involved to embody the role of the villain.

Snyder's ambitious blockbuster had originally been taken on by LucasFilm in a now remote period - between the launch of "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith" and the acquisition of the company on behalf of Disney - and should have based on the initial plans to become part of the Star Wars universe. Having rejected the project because it was considered too distant from the philosophy of the franchise, the filmmaker has today found, in agreement with Netflix, the opportunity to reformulate the basic idea with the aim of aiming for a large-scale production, hopefully inaugurating the beginning of a new and fruitful science fiction saga. Only time will be able to answer as to the success of the project, we certainly have no lack of curiosity to discover what surprises await us upon release.
