From the set to the trademark registry. Raoul Bova has decided to legally protect some of the phrases he used in WhatsApp voice messages that, in recent weeks, were the subject of an investigation by the Rome Prosecutor's Office for attempted extortion against him.
In early August, the actor's lawyers filed expressions with the Italian Patent and Trademark Office that have now gone viral , such as the famous “eyes pop”, sent to the model Martina Ceretti and made public by Fabrizio Corona, and the more romantic “Good morning special being, with a wonderful smile”.
"Our initiative aims to block the illegal distribution of the audio content," explains Annamaria Bernardini De Pace, Bova's attorney. "The entire file is now being examined by the Patent Office. It will take a few weeks, but if we get the green light, those phrases cannot be used without Raoul's permission, otherwise sanctions will be imposed."
The actor's move opens up a new scenario in the entertainment world, where the virality of content can transform from a private episode into a registered trademark. Now, to use those words, the actor's consent will be required: otherwise, rather than a "bulging eye," a legal warning could arrive.
