«I'm going back to Cagliari: I've always known it, I declared it even then, at the time of my departure. Cagliari made me understand that maybe I could make it in my job, I had found all the elements that helped me in those three years: fans, players, managers, we were all one». These are the first words of Claudio Ranieri, after the closing of the agreement with Cagliari for his return to the rossoblù bench until 2025.
Back from a long series of satisfactions and triumphs, 2023 for him will begin where it all began.
«In recent days you have helped me to make this decision, which was not easy for various reasons. We are bound by mutual respect and love, many beautiful memories. So I received discreet help but that I have heard, I know you», said the coach with thoughts going to the fans, «this is why I come with unchanged enthusiasm, love and passion».
He returns to Sardinia, with Cagliari in Serie B. But the situation isn't easy, and Ranieri knows it: "I'm not enough on my own", he adds, "the help of the club that strongly wanted me will be needed, the work that I will ask of my new boys, our fans will be needed, especially them, to push our Cagliari to the results that we all strongly hope for».
The conclusion is an exhortation to the rossoblù people: «I'm sure we'll all meet together to push the team, all in the same direction, because this is the only thing we want. See you soon, Forza Casteddu».
