The duel between Sebastien Ogier and Ott Tänak continues, between two wings of the crowd in raptures, also on Saturday of the Rally Italia Sardegna, sixth round of the WRC World Championship. The multiple champion from Toyota, who after the first four special stages on Friday had ended the day in the lead with a 3"4 advantage over Tänak's Hyundai.

The four morning specials were played within tenths of a second. Tänak won Tempio 1 and overtook Ogier by a tenth, who countered by giving him 2"2 on Tula 1. On Tempio 2 the fastest car was Neuville's Hyundai, which preceded Tänak and Ogier, with the Estonian taking the lead took the lead of the race and consolidated it with the success in Tula 2.

After changing tires in Pattada, in the afternoon the cars set off again towards Monte Lerno-Monti di Alà, a full 25.33 km in which the transalpine beat Tänak by 6.8 seconds and regained first position, which he maintained even after the first pass on Coiluna-Loelle, with a lead over Tänak that has risen to 9”7. In the meantime, a separate challenge is taking place for third position between the Spaniard Sordo and the British Evans. The Iberian from Hyundai is third at 2'03”5 from Ogier, the Toyota standard-bearer fourth at 2'29”1.

After Coiluna-Loelle 1, the Aci Team Italia Daprà-Guglielmetti crew is first among the Italians, in 14th position at 10'. First among the Sardinians Giuseppe Dettori and Carlo Pisano, in 20th place. Veteran Francesco Marrone and navigator Francesco Fresu have been out since yesterday evening due to the broken steering gear of the Peugeot 208 T16.

The day will end with the return to Alghero after the second passage on Monte Lerno-Monti di Alà (25.33 km, 17.05) and Coiluna-Loelle (14.53 km, 18.05).
