The associations Arcigay Cagliari, Cittadini Sospesi and Artifizio invite you to a special afternoon that combines literature and social commitment.
Stefano Paolo Giussani is a prominent figure in Italian LGBTQ+ culture , touring Italy with his work, giving voice to local communities. In 2012 , he won the Brianza Prize with " The Last Wave of the Lake ," an LGBTQ story set during World War II.
The novel " Six Colors Against the Wind ", inspired by the true events that happened in Villanueva de Algaidas in southern Spain , It tells the story of Juan, mayor of a small town in Andalusia, who in March 2020 decided to display a rainbow flag on the town hall . The seemingly simple gesture split the local community in two , where Juan and his husband Sebastian are still considered " outsiders " by many residents. The colorful flag waving above the houses becomes the symbol of a long-simmering rift , leading everything towards a seemingly inevitable clash.
The book is a choral story of courage and resistance to custom, convention, and conformism . The tale explores themes of friendship, love, rights, mistrust, and inclusion in what publisher Massimo Angelini calls a " small, noble, unconventional, six-color story ."
