"Hello everyone, I wanted to announce that I tested positive for Covid". So Rafael Nadal, who in a series of posts published on his social profiles explained that he was infected with the coronavirus.

The positivity emerged after a test on his arrival in Spain: Manacor's southpaw, career winner of 20 Slam titles, was returning from the Abu Dhabi exhibition-tournament.

"Both in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, we were checked every two days and always resulted negative, the last Friday with the result Saturday", revealed Nadal.

Regarding his health conditions, the current number 6 in the world does not go into the details of the symptoms, admitting, however, to experience "unpleasant moments" and to be "confined to the house" waiting to see some progress soon.

Nadal also makes it known that he has informed everyone who has been in contact with him recently.

The positivity could impact his start to the season, which has yet to be defined: "I have to be totally flexible with my schedule and analyze options based on my progress" he specified, thanking all the fans for "the support and understanding" .

Nadal is currently enrolled in the Melbourne tournament (January 4-9) and the Australian Open (January 17-30).
