Immortal. Even in the third millennium radio continues to be the most followed medium in all the countries of the world thanks also to its extreme adaptability. Its importance has emerged and - unfortunately - continues to emerge even on the occasion of the most tragic events. “ Radio in the theaters of war and in the peripheries of the world ” is the title of the study seminar which will take place tomorrow, Tuesday 16 May, from 11 to 14 in the Aula Magna of the University of Sassari.

Indispensable for communication during the world conflicts of the 1900s, when it was an avant-garde medium, radio has remained so even today in the various conflicts taking place around the world. The appointment in Sassari also intends to highlight the importance of humanitarian and community radios for the most disadvantaged populations . The presence of a network of signals that can be picked up even in the most remote and difficult to reach regions increases its ductility and ease of use, allowing for a range of uses that other means do not have.

After the introduction by the rector Gavino Mariotti and by professor Romina Deriu , president of the Public communication and information professions degree course, speakers will include: Andrea Borgnino, Director of Rai Play Sound; Oreste Molino, formerly at the External Action Service of the European Commission; Gianfranco Scalas, General of the Italian Army, promoter of Radio West, community radio; Emanuele Fiorilli, Rai correspondent; Gianni Garrucciu, Technical Professor at the Radio University of Sassari; Rosario Cecaro, professor at the Sassari University TV Laboratory; Carmen Botti, Director of the Rai Regional Office for Sardinia; Luigi Carossino, Uniss Radio Coordinator.

The seminar is part of the " May of communication " initiative of the degree course in public communication and communication professions and is also valid as a training course for journalists who will be entitled to three training credits .
