Another important recognition for "Quello che è mio" by Gianni Cesaraccio, a short already winner of the Festival Visioni Sarde, a festival that continues to amass certificates and prizes.
On June 3, the public who filled the Council Room of the Rectorate of the University of Málaga awarded the prize for Best Short to the denunciation film by the Sassari director. "What is mine" courageously addresses the drama of soldiers affected by cancer after missions abroad and exercises in the training ranges in Sardinia.
«It's a small film that talks about what we leave of ourselves to the world - declared the Sassari director Gianni Cesaraccio - I put everything I have into it, the cinema I love, the stories and the characters that are part of my world. It is a film made with so much effort and so much heart that I hope it can convey all the passion that I (and we) put into making it."
Four former soldiers, now in a terminal phase after falling ill in service due to depleted uranium, decide to take back what the State denied them by going to rob banks in small villages on the island with the aim of saving enough money to allow families to live with dignity after their death. They will have to overcome their limits and their fears to be able to give strength and pride to their last days.
The actors Marco Bullitta, Vanni Fois, Roberto Fara and Davide Tassi gave them a magnificent face and voice. Thanks also to their passionate and engaging acting, "What is mine" went straight to the hearts of the Spanish spectator too.
The awards ceremony, directed by Giovanni Caprara, President of the Dante of Malaga and organizer of the Italian Film Festival, will take place on Saturday 8 June at 7.30pm at the Albéniz cinema in Malaga.
