We women of Tehran ” is the title of the book by the Iranian journalist, intellectual, director and university professor Farian Sabahi which will be presented tomorrow , Friday 10 March , at 6.30 pm, in the Pinacoteca Altana in via De Gasperi, in Ozieri .

The event was organized by the International Inner Wheel Club of Ozieri and by the San Michele institution of the municipality of Sassari, with the sponsorship of the Chamber of Commerce of Sassari. The appointment will be presented and moderated by Maria Amelia Lai , entrepreneur and vice president of the Chamber of Commerce of Sassari, as well as President of Confartigianato Imprese Sardegna and is part of the triptych of appointments "Svelatamente donne", in the tenth edition of the "Women's March".

THE PROFILE – Daughter of an Iranian and a Piedmontese, with a degree in Business Economics from the Bocconi University of Milan and in Oriental History in Bologna, Sabahi obtained her doctorate in London with a thesis on the Army of Knowledge during the reign of Muhammad Reza Pahlavi. He subsequently carried out field research in Iran on oil buy-back contracts (for the post-doc at the Faculty of Economics, University of Bologna) and on free trade zones in the Persian Gulf (for the research fellowship at the Istituto of Economic History, Bocconi University). She has dealt with the Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asia with a multidisciplinary methodology that takes into account history, economics, religious and cultural aspects, with attention to minorities and gender issues.

She is the author of numerous scientific articles and essays published by Italian and international publishers. Her latest book is, in fact, "We women of Tehran".

Journalist and collaborator for numerous Italian and foreign newspapers, she also signed the exhibition "Safar: lives hanging by a thread, a journey in a Middle East that no longer exists (1997-2003)", hosted in 2019 in Turin and in 2021 in Parma capital of culture.

As a director he has made three short films in which Iranian events are intertwined with those of the Jewish state.

She was the protagonist of the documentary "Minareto mille punti" on the mosque under construction in Colle Val D'Elsa (directed by Pietro Raschillà, with Edoardo Camurri).
