Thursday 9 March at 20 The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Cagliari opens its doors to the event " The sounds of the soul " signed by the Teatro Lirico . The initiative, which provides for a tour of the Cagliari teams for Sardinian churches , is part of the " An Island of Music 2023 " project. Carlo Palleschi will conduct the Orchestra and Choir in the performance of two pages of excellent and famous sacred music. In the role of soloists perform Elena Schirru (soprano) and Martina Serra (mezzo-soprano). The choir master is instead Giovanni Andreoli .

The musical program includes the performance of: Messe des pêcheurs de Villerville , for female choir and orchestra by Gabriel Faurè and Andrè Messager ; Stabat Mater for soloists, chorus and orchestra by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi .

The objective of the review " The sounds of the soul ", organized with the patronage and collaboration of the Dioceses of the regional territory and the Municipalities concerned, is the enhancement of the most beautiful churches, basilicas and places of worship in Sardinia , through the realization of sacred or religiously inspired character. The review also sees the synergy with important local organizations such as : Nuoro Tourism Pastoral; Academy Foundation House of Peoples, Cultures and Religions of Sassari; Archconfraternity of the Santo Monte di Iglesias; Arborense Diocesan Museum of Oristano; “Bernardo De Muro” Musical Academy of Tempio Pausania; Pro Loco of Quartu Sant'Elena.

The show has a total duration of approximately 60 minutes and does not include an intermission . The scheduled performances will follow: Friday 10 March at 8 pm in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Oristano; Saturday 11 March at 8pm in the Cathedral of Santa Chiara in Iglesias; Sunday 12 March at 8 pm in the Basilica of Sant'Elena in Quartu Sant'Elena; Tuesday 14 March at 7.30 pm in the Cathedral of Santa Maria della Neve in Nuoro; Wednesday 15 March at 8pm in the Cathedral of San Nicola in Sassari; Thursday 16 March at 8pm in the Cathedral of San Pietro di Tempio Pausania; Friday 17 March at 8.30 pm in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Immacolata in Alghero; Monday 20 March at 11 in the Church of San Paolo in Cagliari (show reserved for schools).
