Welcomed with great interest by the public, so much so that it was reprinted a month after its release, " L'eredità delle donne di Casa Lussu. Joyce Lussu e Giovanna Serri ", the first book by singer-songwriter Claudia Crabuzza, published by Archivi del Sud.
To thank the warm welcome, the author has decided to make available for streaming the unreleased musical pieces composed specifically to accompany this work: these are two texts taken from the translations of Joyce Lussu, "Fuoco e ritmo" by the Angolan poet Agostinho Neto and "Lettera dal carcere" by the Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet (courtesy of Robin Edizioni) and the poem in Sardinian "Deu votu s'arrubiu vessillu" by Orlanda Sassu and Efisio Sanna. The original music is by Claudia Crabuzza (voice, acoustic guitar and guitalele) accompanied by Dilva Foddai (accordion). The pieces, recorded and mixed by Bachisio Ulgheri, are available on all digital platforms.
The book is the result of a master's thesis discussed by the author at the University of Sassari and highlights the relationship between Joyce Lussu and Giovanna Serri, one an activist and intellectual, companion of Emilio Lussu, the other a farmer and weaver, who managed the house and lands of the Lussu family for fifty years . Together with them we discover the cultural and historical heritage of the town of Armungia, with the virtuous experience of the local museums. A story that can be read as a research essay or as a family saga, where the genius loci of the house seems to guide human events in contrary and nonconformist directions.
Claudia Crabuzza is a singer-songwriter, born in Alghero in 1975, she graduated in Linguistic Mediation and in Languages and Cultures of Sardinia at the University of Sassari. She has been the lead singer of the band Chichimeca since 2000, with her first solo album Com un soldat in Catalan di Alghero she received the Targa Tenco for dialect and minority languages. Her latest album Grazia, la madre is a tribute to the works of Grazia Deledda. This is her first book.
