From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, the Ex-Ma.Ter building on Via Zanfarino in Sassari will look forward. "The Future is Here" is the final event presented by the Mario Sironi Academy of Fine Arts as part of a program dedicated to the results of research projects launched within the e.INS – Spoke 02 innovation ecosystem, which aims to promote innovation and sustainability in support of businesses, communities, and local systems operating in the cultural heritage and tourism sectors.
Throughout the day, the public will be able to attend and participate in workshops, demonstrations, and laboratory activities led by students and faculty from the Sassari Academy, along with professionals and businesses involved in the projects. This is an opportunity to experiment with new technologies, observe creative processes, and foster a dialogue between education, research, and the world of work.
At 6:30 pm, the final conference will present the project results, which highlighted solutions that combine art, digitalization, accessibility, intelligent reuse of spaces, responsible tourism, and environmental sustainability, with a particular focus on enhancing Sardinia's cultural heritage.
Among its main areas of activity, the Academy has worked on innovation for cultural heritage—using restoration techniques, digital surveying, and immersive reality—and on design applied to new technologies, experimenting with visual languages and tools for the contemporary enjoyment of art.
A journey that combines creativity and research, demonstrating how digitalization can become a concrete resource for cultural enhancement and regional development.
"Over the course of these three years of intense work," says Director Daniele Dore, "much energy has been expended on administrative and bureaucratic issues, but the professionalism and creativity of our Academy's researchers have allowed us to exploit resources in innovative ways, becoming more resilient. The digitization of cultural heritage and new multimedia languages are not just tools for conservation or promotion, but a way to democratize access to knowledge and beauty, restoring citizens to an active role in building the future."
Among the most notable projects, Dore cites SFERA, an innovative and modular platform for full-body 3D scanning capable of connecting art, knowledge, tourism and citizenship, with a scalable and replicable model.
