"The existence of the PSDA is at risk": former party secretaries and presidents speak out against Solinas.
War is raging within the Sardinian camp, with the former governor targeted by nearly everyone who led the Four Moors in the 30 years before him: "See you in Orgosolo for the rebirth."Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
His name never appears. But the open letter signed by seven former secretaries and presidents of the Sardinian Action Party, ready to attend the assembly convened for May 24th in Orgosolo, is an indictment of Christian Solinas. Silvano Cadoni, Giovanni Colli, Giovanni Columbu, Lorenzo Palermo, Efisio Pilleri, Giacomo Sanna, and Efisio Trincas are seven living men (of nine, one of whom has not signed and the other has taken another membership card) who have led the Quattro Mori for the past nearly 40 years.
They say that with the current secretary, Solinas, "the very existence of the Sardinian Action Party is at risk." A party that "for too long has failed to communicate either with its members or, more generally, with Sardinian society and its people." They say they no longer want to endure "a deafening silence on political, economic, and social issues affecting Sardinia." And while the party's internal bodies are being destroyed by its leaders , a "deadly silence" arrives, serving the operational model epitomized by the aberrant slogan 'side with the winners'."
For this reason, they say, they will meet in Orgosolo, "with the Sardinians who want to start over: 'We will discuss and relaunch our ideas for the freedom of Sardinia.' We will also talk about the Sardinian Party, but above all, we will discuss what the Sardinian Action Party can (and must) do for Sardinia."
Here is the full text of the letter, with the signatures at the bottom.
We will go to the Assembly on May 24, 2026, in Orgosolo.
We are Sardinians and we want to meet among friends and comrades who share the same vision: a strong and authoritative PSdAz is essential to provide Sardinians with opportunities for well-being and development, and to restore hope in a different and better Sardinia, no longer subject to oppression, no longer a breeding ground for the worst economic and political speculation. And this is what we want to talk about.
We are also very concerned about the situation of the PSd'Az.
We realized that we belong to a Party that for too long has been unable to speak to its members or, more generally, to Sardinian society and its people.
We have been patient since the 2024 Congress, hoping that, once the less than thrilling period of regional government entrusted to a Sardinian supporter had passed, political discussions on the real issues affecting Sardinia could resume and action could be taken to benefit its people.
We have seen none of this, and indeed we have observed our Party deteriorate on essential issues concerning its internal democracy and its leadership.
We have been waiting in vain for years for the issuance of membership cards certifying PSdAz membership and the right for every individual Sardinian to exercise their rights. We have waited in vain for the essential statutory bodies to be formed, without which the Association's will cannot be implemented: the Board of Directors and the National Guarantee Commission have never been appointed, and the financial and economic oversight bodies have never been completed. We know that there is no longer a physical headquarters for the Association.
The Federations, which are the only bodies responsible for managing membership through their Sections, no longer exist; any extension of the non-renewable mandate for the administration has expired.
The National Council (decimated by the terrible practice adopted for the appointment of "majority" members) was effectively prevented from reconstituting itself and meeting.
All this translates into a lack of the required basic conditions (exact identification of members, bodies, headquarters) and endangers the very existence of the Sardinian Action Party.
We have also seen the casual use that some make of our symbol, and the abusive use of the "four Moors" without any reaction from the secretary.
We have then suffered a deafening silence on the political, economic and social issues affecting Sardinia.
The Sardinian Party was shamefully absent from the mobilization against wind turbines in Sardinia, and did not even denounce the subtraction of sovereignty to the detriment of the Region and the Municipalities, deprived of any real power of coordination and opposition.
The Italian state dominates our territories, our material and cultural wealth, our environment, our hills, and our sea; and this without the voice of the Sardinian Party being heard.
Equally serious is the Sardinians' absence on the essential issues of the relationship between Sardinia, the State, and Europe: no debate, no calls for reforms; no measures to protect our citizens on the fiscal and economic fronts.
A deadly silence, a silence that serves the operational mode encapsulated by the aberrant slogan "side with the winner." A slogan completely opposed to the values of Sardinianism, which instead call us to speak clearly and openly and to seek potential alliances not through silence but through greater shared agendas.
We want to meet in Orgosolo together with all the Sardinians who want to start over.
Let's start again on an equal footing, among activists, without distinguishing between those who, like us, have had party responsibilities and those who want to make a contribution for the first time.
We will discuss and relaunch our ideas for the freedom of Sardinia.
We will also discuss the Sardinian Action Party, but above all, we will discuss what the Sardinian Action Party can (and must!) do for Sardinia; humbly, listening to everyone, and trying to restore hope to the Sardinians, affirming that the Sardinian Action Party is still here, that its members still have the will to propose ideas and fight, to intervene intelligently and decisively to safeguard the conditions for autonomy and affirm the idea of independence.
A new Congress is essential, to be held with rules that guarantee everyone's safety, and to create a new ruling class: young, cultured, sincerely pro-independence, willing to assert itself within the Sardinian Party and make sacrifices for it.
We are aware that the existence of a strong and authoritative Sardinian Party is not just a matter for the PSdAz, but for the whole of Sardinia: in this spirit, we invite you to intervene, we invite you to be in Orgosolo, we invite everyone to take up politics again, to start organizing again for a finally free Sardinia.
FORTZA PARIS!
