Twelve Sardinian bookshops united in order not to succumb to the big e-commerce players .

It happens in Cagliari, San Sperate, San Gavino Monreale, Gonnesa, Isili, Oristano, Macomer, Sassari, Ozieri and Olbia, where the owners have decided to fight Amazon's ruthless competition with the same weapons as Jeff Bezos: get together in an online channel , but valuing what Amazon risks canceling, people and human contact .

For some years now, independent booksellers from all over Italy have joined in this "resistance" on a platform, Bookdealer , which allows you to sell ethically on the web , building a direct relationship with readers . Because books are recommended by booksellers, not by the algorithm and delivered by hand directly to your home.

Bookdealer is the platform for all those who love to read and, knowing the importance of neighborhood bookstores, want to help them. In Sardinia there are 12 bookshops that have decided to create a network but over 700 Italian bookshops have chosen to join the project in the last two years: because you can (and must) sell and buy books online, without forget people.

«The beauty of having landed on Bookdealer - the booksellers declare - is that today we manage to be close to our faithful readers but we have met many other people and we have understood how the web is truly a precious tool capable of breaking down the degrees of separation. Bookdealer has brought us closer to a new audience and every meeting is always a stimulus. Today we no longer sell only in our area but throughout Italy, and sometimes we ship abroad. It's the beauty of being connected and staying connected, with the many tourists who enter the shop but also with those around the world who appreciate our research».

«The beauty – they continue – is that, unlike Amazon, we also deliver within a few hours , always within the day. We just go out and load the bike.
