The sound of the bell seems to have a sadder tone since Poldo , the affectionate big dog who every morning accompanied the children as they entered the classroom, is no longer in front of the Suelli infant and primary schools.

Now Poldo is locked up in the Ortacesus kennel: local police officers brought him to us after reports from some citizens, evidently annoyed by this stray's wanderings in the inhabited center of the small town of Trexenta.

Now many are wondering if the animal, which the children of the village had (almost) adopted, could not have remained free, perhaps by starting a process to make it become a neighborhood dog, as envisaged by the Circular of the Ministry of Health of 2001.

«Poldo is the best dog in the world and the children miss him dearly» says a mother, «the hope is that he will be adopted as soon as possible by someone who can give him the love he deserves».
