Three stops in Alghero, Castelsardo, and Stintino to present the book by the La7 journalist about her experience aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla. After meetings with Piergiorgio Pulixi, Davide Piras, and Miguel Gotor, the Genera Festival Estate program continues.
The next event will feature Sassari journalist Emanuela Pala, correspondent for La7's "Piazzapulita," who will present her book "Ostinata umanità. A bordo della Global Sumud Flotilla." The mini-tour kicks off this evening, Tuesday, July 28, at 9:00 PM at Villa Mosca in Alghero. Emanuela Pala will be in conversation with Giampaolo Cassitta, artistic director of Genera Festival, retracing her travelogue aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, the international civil society coalition created to break the naval blockade of Gaza.
The second event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29th, at 9:00 PM, in Piazza La Pianedda in Castelsardo. Cassitta will once again engage with the author, leading the audience through the story of her attack by the Israeli navy, her detention in the Negev prison, and the reflections she gained during an experience marked by courage, solidarity, and the choice to not remain indifferent in the face of suffering.
The tour will conclude on Friday, July 31st, at 9:00 PM, at the Vele di Pietra in Stintino's Old Port. Emanuela Pala will converse with Sassari writer Raffaela Ulgheri, a guest of the festival in recent weeks, and with Paolo Bellotti, president of the Intrecci Culturali association, a festival partner. The meeting will explore the themes addressed in the book, focusing on the value of journalistic testimony and civic engagement. Genera Festival Estate thus confirms its commitment to creating opportunities for discussion between journalism, literature, and current affairs, previewing the spirit of the next edition of Genera, the journalism and communication festival for high school students scheduled for Sassari and Alghero from October 1st to 5th, 2026.
