"Sos Mannos de su Passadu": in Castelsardo the tradition of the singers

The village of Castelsardo is preparing to host a special evening dedicated to Sardinian tradition and music.
On November 23, starting at 5 pm, Sos Mannos de su Passadu, Su Cantu a Chiterra will be held, an event that brings together the most famous singers of today in a tribute to the great artists of the past , with the aim of reviving the memory of this popular music that has marked the cultural identity of the island.
The event, conceived by the Deris, Oe e Crasa association, will open with institutional greetings from the mayor of Castelsardo, Maria Lucia Tirrotto, and the regional councilor for Tourism, Crafts and Commerce, Franco Cuccureddu. Following this, Vittorio Cau, president of the organizing association, will introduce the festival, illustrating its cultural significance and the importance of keeping the Sardinian musical tradition alive. Sos Mannos de su Passadu will see the performance of some of the most famous cantadores of the Sardinian scene, including Emanuele Bazzoni, Roberto Murgia, Daniele Giallara and Franco Dessena, together with the cantadoras Gianfranca Mulas, Noemi Mulas and Sara Satta. The artists will be accompanied by guitarists Tore Matzau and Nino Manca, while the accordion will be played by maestros Graziano Caddeo and Alberto Caddeo. The evening will be further enriched by performances by the Folk group Ampuriesu and the Bassa Valle del Coghinas of Valledoria, with the accordionist Angelo Nieddu who will bring the rhythm and liveliness of the Sardinian popular tradition.
The show will take place in the suggestive Piazza del Novecentenario, with the patronage of the Municipality of Castelsardo, of the Pro Loco of Castelsardo, of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia through the Sardegna Turismo brand, and of the Acli with the support of the Fap and the provincial Acli of Sassari.
"Sos Mannos de su Passadu is not just a show, but a cultural project that intends to preserve and transmit our musical tradition to future generations," said Vittorio Cau. "Through live performances and the project of a museum dedicated to the cantadores, Deris, Oe and Crasa wants to keep alive the memory of the great artists who have enriched our culture."
