On Saturday 25 November , Castelsardo takes on Sardinian tradition and culture , thanks to the "Sos Manno de su Passadu" project-event , now in its second edition.

A magical evening that celebrates the memory of the illustrious artists of the past , presenting the most famous Cantadores a chiterra in an extraordinary show that blends tradition and innovation .

The president of the promoting association Deris, Oe and Crasa, Vittorio Cau, explains that “Sos Manos de su passadu, Su Cantu a Chiterra” «is not just a folklore musical event but an extraordinary experience designed to make emotions and feelings vibrate the public".

The Cantadores' performance in Chiterra, interpreted with immense passion, brings the greats of improvised Sardinian singing back to life , rekindling the memory of one of the most popular expressions of Sardinian art and music.

The event is promoted with the provincial Acli of Sassari and the regional ones , committed for over 35 years in the protection of art, culture and the Sardinian language, with the Sardinian poetry competition now in its 35th edition, the canto a chiterra and the prize for the protection of European minority languages.

In the splendid town of Castelsardo, prestigious cantadores will perform, among which famous names such as Emanuele Bazzoni, Franco Dessena, Torangelo Salis, Roberto Murgia, Emanuele Piras, the proud winner of the recognized "Nightingale of Sardinia" award Antonio Carboni, Antonio Mannu and Giovanni Piras.

Guiding the rhythm with the guitar strings are Nino Manca and Tore Matzau, while the accordion will be caressed by the expert hands of Graziano Caddeo and Alberto Caddeo.

Finally, during the show, the Folk Group Tradizioni Popolari Macomer will perform, among the most active in the regional and international panorama of Sardinian culture and music.

Sos mannos de su passadu will be held on Saturday 25 November from 5pm at the Tourist Port, in the evocative hall of the Castelsardo Auditorium, with the patronage of the Municipality, of Gecas Porto di Castelsardo, of the Sardinia Region - also through the Sardegna Turismo brand.

After the Ondras prize - the international prize for the commitment made in favor of minority languages, promoted by the ACLI of Sardinia - comes a new stage. «We are convinced that our language and our culture are not something accessory, but rather fundamental for our young people», says the president of Acli Salvatore Sanna with enthusiasm. «This is why we work and commit ourselves with dedication and passion».
