Savory Easter for Sardinians . Whether you decide to have lunch at home or at a restaurant, whether you decide to take a short holiday somewhere nearby or, from away from home, you need to return to the island by plane.

Adiconsum Sardinia has analyzed the trend of retail price lists on the occasion of the now imminent holiday. For food goods, the average price increase is 4.1% compared to 2023 , with peaks of +15/20% for chocolate eggs and +5/10% for dove . For drinks, +3.5% . It will therefore be more expensive to set the tables. Restaurant? The average increases are 4.3%, with peaks of 5.4% in Olbia-Tempio .

Those who decide to go on holiday while remaining on the island have to deal with price increases on hotels and accommodation facilities, which are on average 4.7% compared to 2023 with peaks of 13.3% in Olbia . However, the high cost of flights and the algorithms of the companies have been widely discussed .

«After the very strong increases in prices of the last two years , retail prices not only are not falling, but continue to rise in Sardinia, albeit at a slower pace than last year ; an upward trend that will impact family spending for Easter", declares the president of Adiconsum Sardinia Giorgio Vargiu .

The consumer association has also drawn up a set of rules to help Sardinian families save money: decide in advance on the menu and the quantity of food and drinks needed, purchasing a few days in advance to avoid last-minute price increases ; draw up a detailed list with everything you need to purchase and stick to it; opt for seasonal and 0 km products , pay attention to the labels; compare flyers and offers from various supermarkets, but avoid 3X2 deals which often lead to buying more than necessary; for fruit and vegetables, prefer farmers' markets ; eggs and doves, pay attention to the price but evaluate it per kilo and not per single piece, the ingredients are also important, and the eggs must be chosen based on the quality of the chocolate, not for the packaging or the surprise inside; finally, never throw away leftovers.
