The first Sardinian and inclusive craft beer was born in Oristano . And the reason for inclusiveness is obvious: little alcohol, no gluten and very low carbonation, therefore a product suitable for everyone.

" PerMé ", this is the name of the latest addition to Birra Puddu, a company reborn in 2021 thanks to a brand recovery project founded in 1962, also comes thanks to a tender from Sardegna Ricerche dedicated to production innovation for craft breweries.

Mauro Fanari, Fabio Porcu and Giuseppe Carrus, partners of Birra Puddu, immediately believing in the project, thus worked on a beer that maintained the character and originality of a craft product - and therefore an unfiltered, unpasteurized beer produced without any chemical or synthetic additive – but that it was suitable for many people who for various reasons cannot enjoy the pleasantness of a craft beer .

Among the characteristics, first of all the low alcohol content : "PerMé" has only 1.6 degrees of alcohol, a very low value if you consider that no dealcoholization process has been implemented. Then the "gluten-free" certification , and therefore a product suitable for celiacs or gluten intolerant. In addition, a mild carbonation , which makes it suitable for those suffering from pathologies that inhibit swallowing. The last feature is the label, which thanks to the aid of the Braille writing system can be used by the visually impaired.

«The starting point is a British-style beer - explains Mauro Fanari , one of the partners and master brewer - a light bitter, but with a certain aroma. We used English Maris Otter and Crystal malt, Mosaic hops and British yeast. A real craft beer, in all respects, with the character we seek in all the beers we produce. We are happy to have managed to achieve certain characteristics, without compromising the uniqueness and craftsmanship that are and will always be our hallmarks».
