The secret treasures of the Capuchins are on display. The bulla of the canonization of Saint Ignatius of Laconi will be on display in Cagliari . On the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Archival Superintendency of Sardinia and the Province of the Capuchin Friars Minor of Sardinia and Corsica are participating in the 2026 edition of Domenica di Carta, an initiative of the Ministry of Culture aimed at promoting the nation's archives as a cultural heritage.

The meeting will be an opportunity for reflection and discussion on the topic of ecclesiastical archives as privileged sources for the study and research of not only religious history, but also social, economic, and cultural history over time. These sources are even more valuable given the broad chronological span often covered by the documentation of a single archive: in this case, the archive of the Friars Minor Capuchin of the Province of Sardinia contains documentation from 1591 to the present day, spanning 115 meters . Visitors will be able to appreciate some of the most valuable pieces, which are on public display for the occasion.

Speakers will include Father Gian Luca Longobardi (Provincial Minister of the Capuchin Friars Minor of Sardinia and Corsica), Maura Picciau (Superintendent of Archives of Sardinia), Father Tarcisio Mascia (Provincial Historian), Brother Dorian Soru (Provincial Archivist), Valerio Luca Floris (Archiving Officer of the Superintendency), and Father Fabrizio Congiu (Vicar Provincial and Guardian of the Convent of Cagliari). The event will take place at 4:30 pm at the Convent of Saint Anthony of Padua on Via Sant'Ignazio da Laconi in Cagliari . The event will take place in the former Seminary Hall, which can be accessed from number 90. Attendance is free and no reservation is required.
