For a few days now, the scene at Elmas airport has been the same: twenty to thirty minutes on average , but sometimes even longer , before the suitcase appears on the baggage claim conveyor belt. Depending on the time, the lines of passengers arriving at the airport are very long : an inconvenience caused by a series of reasons that, all together, force you to spend more time at the airport.

The concentration of flights (this season) due (also) to the mass " counter-exodus " of Cagliari citizens in recent days (on Sunday morning, for example, between 8.55 and 9.45 six planes landed), and the limited availability of the use of the conveyor belts (always on Sunday, but at lunchtime, in less than a quarter of an hour, with three planes arriving, only two were running), are the main causes.

In the large hall of the baggage claim area of Elmas airport, Sunday morning is a constant coming and going: with 33 planes landing until lunchtime, the wait for your suitcase , in moments of greatest concentration, can be long . It is not only passengers who denounce the inconvenience, but also the unions. Nicola Contini, regional secretary of Ugl air transport , explains that «with the exponential growth of flights, as always happens during the summer season», tourist, «the staff assigned to the service is always the same. That is, it is not enough. This happens because, with average low wages, it is increasingly difficult to find staff».
