Four historic and archaeological sites in Villasimius will be open to tourists on Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th, during the "Monumenti Aperti" (Open Monuments) program. These include the municipal archaeological museum, the parish church of San Raffaele, Casa Todde (the maritime museum), and the Fortezza Vecchia (Old Fortress). "For Villasimius, the sea is the most important and best-known resource in the world, but it's not the only one," Mayor Gianluca Dessì emphasized. "Our goal is to show visitors the area's rich history and traditions. The two-day "Monumenti Aperti" program is part of the goals the municipal administration set for itself from the very beginning, as it allows us to showcase the town's historical and cultural resources."

The sites will be illustrated by students from the Villasimius state comprehensive school and by workers from the Municipality, the Marine Protected Area, and the in-house company Villasimius srl.

"This way," added Deputy Mayor Michele Cireddu, "the little ones become protagonists in telling the story of our country. I thank the comprehensive school, the staff at Villasimius Srl, the Marine Area, and Dr. Elisabetta Gaudina for their invaluable support. We hope to see many residents and tourists in these cultural venues."

They can be visited on Saturday from 4pm to 7:30pm and on Sunday from 9:30am to 1pm, and in the afternoon from 4pm to 7:30pm.
