"The sea between Olbia and Siniscola must remain free from offshore wind farms". This was reiterated by Roberto Deriu, regional councilor of the Democratic Party: "Our controversy against wind turbines in the Einstein Telescope area is certainly not an extravagance but it is essential to continue to participate in this exceptional project, as they have understood a lot well in Holland, ”he adds.

The project in question foresees the presence of 65 floating wind turbines, 280 meters high and positioned at a distance from the coast that varies from a minimum of 25 to a maximum of 40 km. "We are not a priori opposed to renewable energies - he underlines -, but it is necessary that the projects are compatible with the protection of the landscape and environmental reasons of our territory, and above all are compatible with the decisive investment of the Einstein Telescope. off the north-eastern coast of Sardinia it is evidently not ".

Deriu on the same issue presented a question to the Regional Council in recent weeks: “In the Netherlands, the other candidate country for the realization of the ET, they understood that any wind farms would be deleterious to participate in the project. This is why - he concludes - we will continue to oppose with all our strength the destruction of wind power along the coasts between Olbia and Siniscola ".
