A new space for writing and creativity has opened in La Maddalena , which hosted the first edition of the "My Place in the World" literary competition . The awards ceremony took place in the premises of Magie Letterarie and marked a significant moment in the cultural life of the archipelago , filling a void that had persisted for years.
Vanessa Camboni , winner of the prose section, and Alessandro Cercignani , winner of the poetry section, took first place. Two different voices, united by their ability to convey, each in their own language, an intimate and universal sense of belonging. Cercignani personally read her poem, "Hogar," while Camboni's story, a powerful tale despite the author's youth, was interpreted by Cristina Marras. The jury included Michael Bonannini (who also hosted the evening), along with Jessica Rigoli, Cristina Marras, and Majla Fadda, organizers of the competition with the Partecipa association and the publisher Paolo Sorba.
The competition attracted a strong turnout, with authors hailing not only from Gallura and the rest of Sardinia, but also from the mainland and even South America. Publisher Paolo Sorba announced that the winning poems and short stories will be included in a forthcoming anthology. Mayor Fabio Lai was also present, along with Councilor Luca Falchi, who reiterated the importance of investing in culture and noted with satisfaction the large number of young people among the participants.
