Algerian intersex boxer and gold medalist at the Paris 2024 Games, Imane Khelif , has filed a complaint in Paris for aggravated cyberbullying , saying she was the victim of controversy, amplified online, over issues relating to her gender.

Khelif's lawyer, Nabil Boudi, announced it. "As soon as she was awarded the gold medal, the boxer has decided to start a new battle ," the lawyer wrote in a statement, "that of justice, dignity and honor."

The lawyer added that he "filed a complaint today for aggravated cyberharassment with the prosecutor's office responsible for combating incitement to hatred online at the Paris prosecutor's office."
