After the historic exhibition at the Il Ghetto Municipal Art and Culture Center in Cagliari in 2017 and the recent re-presentation at the Foiso Fois Art and Music High School in Cagliari, the photography exhibition “Stato Migrante” by photojournalist Roberto Pili, curated by Giacomo Pisano, arrives at Policromie – Melting Pot International Literature Festival, scheduled in Samassi from June 12 to 16.

The arrival of "Stato Migrante" at Policromie represents a natural meeting of two cultural paths that share the same vision: promoting dialogue between cultures, recounting the transformations of our time, and giving voice to the stories that cross geographical and human borders.

Through powerful and humane images, Roberto Pili recounts over a decade of landings and migration routes in Sardinia. Since 2011, the photographer has documented the arrival of thousands of people from diverse countries, building a visual archive of extraordinary civic and historical value. His shots convey not only the chronicle of arrival, but also a profound story of hope, fear, resilience, and human dignity.

"Stato Migrante" transcends the scope of reportage to become a universal reflection on the contemporary condition. The migrant becomes a metaphor for humanity on the move, for the search for new possibilities, for the need for belonging and a future. Faces, gazes, and everyday gestures convey an authentic narrative that invites the audience to look beyond statistics and simplifications, recognizing the stories, identities, and aspirations of the people portrayed.

The exhibition's presence within Policromie takes on a particularly strong significance. The festival was born as a space for dialogue without borders, dedicated to the themes of migration, coexistence, cultural plurality, and new communities. In this context, Roberto Pili's photographs become a tool for dialogue capable of connecting art, memory, literature, and civic engagement.

The exhibition will offer visitors an emotional and visually striking journey, capable of challenging consciences and opening new perspectives on the present. It invites reflection on the meaning of hospitality, encounter, and collective responsibility in an increasingly interconnected world.
