What would a button say if it could talk, and what memories would it have? This is the imaginative premise of " Memories of a Button ," Tamara Pes 's debut novel, coming out February 9th with Camena Edizioni . The novel will be presented by the author on Thursday 5th in Cagliari in the foyer of the Teatro Massimo , starting at 6 pm in conversation with Andrea Fulgheri . The event is organized by the publishing house in collaboration with Legger_ezza , Libreria Edumondo , 6instoria, and Cedac Sardegna .
The book's protagonist is Amedeo, a talking and thinking mother-of-pearl button who lives in a comfortable box with his other buttons. But when he's pulled out one day, a long journey begins : through clothes, faraway places, and yet more boxes, Amedeo discovers the world as he accompanies the various owners onto whose clothes he's sewn, witnessing their life experiences and growing with them. A novel conceived during a course at the Academy of Fine Arts and born from a love for little things, it also inspires Sara Paravagna 's cover—where needle and thread come to life—with a message that invites us to remain curious and never stand still, finding the courage to see the world .
On Thursday, the author will meet her readers for the first time , recounting her inspirations, creative journey, and the emotions she experienced while creating her work. The presentation is also part of a pink week at the Theater , which tonight features the show " Teti: una ninfa, una madre" (Teti: a nymph, a mother ), by Giuseppina Norcia and starring Roberta Pasquinucci Cocco, while on Friday, the matinée of " Six women who changed the world" (Six women who changed the world ), by and starring Gabriella Greison, is scheduled.
