Black and white portraits of women. A selection of photographs by Pietro Basoccu was inaugurated at the Vigne Surrau exhibition gallery in Arzachena. created over the course of several years for the project “ Mamas and fillas. From Penelope to Eleonora”. The exhibition, curated by Salvatore Ligios , is organized by the Association On Palatu Photography in collaboration with Vigne Surrau.

The artist has documented various situations in various Sardinian villages with a series of portraits depicting mothers and daughters. The exhibition is accompanied by poems written in Sardinian and Italian by the poet Anna Cristina Serra. The introductory text in the exhibition catalog includes contributions from the Bishop of Lanusei and Nuoro, Msgr. Antonello Mura, and art historian Sonia Borsato.

During the exhibition, which will be open until March 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., the prestigious publication—number 10 in the Contemporary Art series, a large-format, limited-edition album published by Soter Editrice—will be presented to the public (date to be determined). The publication contains a selection of the works on display and a summary of previous photographic campaigns.
